LIVE SCULPTURES. Architecture of Empathy
(Variations after John Isaacs’ life-sized marble sculpture Architecture of Empathy – a 1:1
reinterpretation of Michelangelo’s Pietà)
Photographic series
20 framed fine art prints, 50 × 70 cm each
2017
This series was developed in collaboration with Weserburg | Museum of Modern Art Bremen as part of a participatory photo project.
At 20-minute intervals, museum visitors became living sculptures. Inspired by Isaacs and Michelangelo’s iconic imagery, I created textile compositions in situ – fabrics were draped and arranged according to my artistic approach.
The resulting ephemeral sculptures fused pose, material, and the personal trust of the participants – captured in photographic moments that render these fleeting body-images visible.
