RESTLESS MIND THROUHG ART & DESIGN PRACTICE

Claudia A. Cruz is a Mexican-German visual artist, photographer, and designer based in Bremen. After studying architecture in Mexico City and at the University of the Arts Bremen, she has been working as a freelance artist and photographer since 2008.

A. Cruz’s working approach moves between applied and artistic practices. Throughout her artistic practice, she works at the intersection of material, body, and society, with a focus on textiles and photography. Her works have been presented in numerous national and international exhibitions and are part of significant public and private collections.

She has received several awards and nominations and is currently a fellow at the new Center for Art (Zentrum für Kunst) as part of the residency fellowship of the Senator for Culture Bremen. In addition, she is a founding member of HYDRAKULTUR e.V. Is active member of the Bremen Women Artists’ Association (GEDOK), and is engaged in various initiatives and collectives that promote and rethink contemporary design and craft.
